Are you tired of typing large amounts of text for work or blog writing? Developed with the idea that keyboard input time and effort could be made more efficient, I've created "VoiceCopy," a speech-to-text app for iPhone and iPad.

Background of "VoiceCopy" Development
As a developer using AI tools like ChatGPT, I spent considerable time on text input, especially creating prompts. I initially tried iOS's standard voice input, but it didn't meet my accuracy requirements, especially in Japanese, often requiring manual corrections that made keyboard typing faster.
To solve this problem, I aimed to create an app with high accuracy and minimal corrections by utilizing the high-performance Whisper speech recognition model. This app supports both English and Japanese, providing high-precision recognition even with slight pronunciation errors.
"VoiceCopy" Solves Input Speed and Work Efficiency Issues
Unmatched speed compared to keyboard input: Voice input is dramatically faster than keyboard input, making it smooth to create long texts and idea notes. According to Stanford University research, voice input is proven to be about three times faster than keyboard input.
Productivity boost through privacy protection: Speech recognition is performed entirely on your iPhone, eliminating the need to send information externally. This allows you to confidently use it for business information and personal content. By reducing time spent deciding about external transmission, it further improves work efficiency and productivity.
Take notes while multitasking: Since your fingers and hands aren't tied to the device keyboard, you can create text while doing other tasks. You can easily jot down creative ideas even when you're not at your desk.
"VoiceCopy" Features
High-precision speech recognition using the Whisper model
Complete on-device speech recognition processing (creating transcriptions without external transmission)
Work efficiency improvements with auxiliary functions like auto-copy, append mode, and user dictionary
Review past voice input notes from history
Use as a keyboard replacement for Mac and iPad (utilizing Universal Clipboard functionality)
Example Use Cases
AI Dialogue and Prompt Input
Quickly input prompts to AI tools by voice for efficient work.
Idea Notes While On the Go or During Chores
Instantly record ideas that come to mind while out or in the middle of housework. Later organize them as text.
Creating Long Texts and Documents
Create drafts of reports and blog posts using voice input. Significantly reduce keyboard input time. Also, reducing keyboard operations may lower the risk of shoulder stiffness and carpal tunnel syndrome.
Seamless Integration with Other Apps and Apple Devices
Speech recognition results can be automatically copied to the clipboard for easy use in email and chat apps. If you have a Mac or iPad, you can easily share speech recognition results between devices using the Universal Clipboard feature.
Specialized Japanese Voice Input
Improve speech recognition accuracy by specifying Japanese as the input language. At launch, VoiceCopy offers robust support for Japanese, making it ideal for speaking practice during Japanese learning. Currently, the app supports English and Japanese, but we plan to expand our multilingual support to include Spanish, Chinese, and more languages in future updates.
Release Announcement
"VoiceCopy" will be available on the App Store soon. Please stay tuned for the release date and latest information!
